🎯 The Goal
Lead your tech startup through intense IT chaos and outscore your competitors by successfully completing feature stories, assembling the ultimate developer team, and collecting victory points ($VP$).
⚙️ Core Actions
The game is played over multiple rounds called Sprints, each divided into short competitive duels called Pitches:
- Reveal the Pitch: Flip over the top card of the Sprint Backlog (a blue Story card worth $VP$, a purple Team Member, or a green Incentive).
- Commit Devs (Face Down): Players secretly assign Team Members from their hand to compete for the card. Each developer contributes a certain number of raw power dice.
- Play Pre-Roll Events: Simultaneously unleash red Event cards to sabotage opponents, recruit extra backup mid-pitch, or drop a “Magic Wand” to cancel an opponent’s action entirely.
- Roll the Dice: Roll a pool of six-sided dice equal to the combined strength of your deployed developers.
- Play Post-Roll Incentives: Play green Incentive cards to boost your final score, trigger complete rerolls, or even steal a competitor’s unused assets. The team with the highest combined total beats the card’s target value and wins it.
- Manage Team Attrition: At the end of a Sprint, clean up your board. Deployed devs go to your personal discard pile, and you must fire someone if your permanent office roster exceeds the strict 5-member corporate limit.
🧠 Why you’ll like it
It is a hilarious, fast-paced parody of modern tech culture that perfectly translates the absolute chaos of software development into a push-your-luck card battler. The blind-bidding mechanics ensure immense tension, while the rapid-fire event chains let you execute brutal last-minute corporate sabotages right as your friends think they’ve locked down a valuable 20-point feature.
