🎯 The Goal

Lead a mythological warband into tabletop battle by balancing a three-tiered force—a towering God, legendary heroes or beasts, and units of mortal followers—to strip away your opponent’s divine faith and dominate the battlefield.

⚙️ Core Actions

The game is an asymmetric, fast-paced tactical skirmish driven by a risk-and-reward activation engine:

  • Build Your Pantheon: Construct a 900-point warband choosing from historical mythologies (Greeks, Norse, Egyptians, Celts, and more) or custom-design your own utilizing a point-builder toolbox.
  • Roll for Action Points: On your turn, nominate a unit and declare how many activation dice (up to 3) you want to roll against their Quality ($Q$) stat. Each success grants an action (moving, aiming, attacking), but rolling failures allows your opponent to perform immediate out-of-turn reactions or steals your entire initiative.
  • Manage the Power Tier Dynamics: Units function strictly within three operational tiers:
    • Gods ($Q2+$): Individually based powerhouse deities that dictate battlefield morale and possess devastating combat values, but require mortal followers to sustain them.
    • Legends ($Q3+$): Independent monsters or heroes (like Medusa or Hercules) that act as mobile heavy hitters to bridge the gap between gods and grunts.
    • Mortals ($Q4+$): Regular infantry arranged on close-order trays for raw combat bonuses, or round templates in open-order for flexible mobility.
  • Balance Faith & Devotion: Instead of moving, your mortal units can spend their activations performing sacred invocations. This fuels your global Faith Track, granting your God extra dice or fueling massive magical miracles.
  • Target the Lifeline: Wage combat using opposed die rolls plus static combat modifiers. Striking down an opponent’s mortal worshippers drains their global faith; if a player’s Faith Track hits zero, their God instantly vanishes from the mortal realm and forces the remaining army to roll for immediate mass rout panic.

🧠 Why you’ll like it

It perfectly gamifies the symbiotic relationship of ancient mythology: a God might feel like an unstoppable force of nature on the board, but they are entirely dependent on a group of fragile peasants praying for them in the back lines. The push-your-luck activation mechanic keeps both players constantly engaged, as greedily fishing for three actions can completely backfire and hand your opponent a game-winning counter-turn. It is a punchy, highly interactive, and unpredictable wargame miniature puzzle that lets you settle classic “who would win” pantheon debates in about an hour.
