🎯 The Goal

Assemble an elite party of adorable yet brutal fantasy heroes and race your opponents to fulfill one of two distinct victory paths: be the first player to successfully slay three massive Monsters, or recruit a diverse guild consisting of six unique character classes.

⚙️ Core Actions

Players utilize a 3-point action economy each round to draw cards, deploy resources, and launch dangerous raids against global targets:

  • Recruit Your Guild: Spend actions to summon unique Hero cards from your hand into your personal party layout. Every hero possesses an asymmetric skill effect that can be triggered by meeting a specific target number on a 2d6 dice roll.
  • Equip Strategic Items: Attach powerful Item cards directly to your deployed heroes. Cursed items can be played onto enemy teams to permanently cripple their stats, while enchanted weapons give your own guild passive stat boosts.
  • Launch Monster Raids: Spend 2 action points to challenge any face-up Monster card in the central market row. You must fulfill the monster’s strict baseline party composition requirements and roll two dice; meeting or beating their target value defeats the beast and unlocks a permanent team buff, while rolling poorly triggers a painful penalty.
  • Slam Down Challenges: Play instant 1v1 Challenge cards out of turn to intercept an opponent’s action. Both players engage in a raw dice-rolling duel; if you out-roll your target, their card is instantly countered and sent straight to the graveyard.
  • Manipulate the Odds: Surprise opponents by dropping Modifier cards from your hand immediately after a dice roll settles, subtly adding or subtracting numerical values to turn a narrow failure into a clutch success (or ruining an opponent’s perfect roll).

🧠 Why you’ll like it

It perfectly translates the whimsical, high-conflict energy of Unstable Unicorns into a traditional RPG-style card battler. The game thrives on incredible, laugh-out-loud table volatility—just as a player builds the ultimate team and rolls to slay their final monster, the rest of the table can unleash a cascading wave of modifier debuffs and challenges to entirely sabotage their victory. It is a highly interactive, beautifully illustrated, and wonderfully mean card engine that is an absolute blast for casual groups.
