🎯 The Goal

Race your tiny remote-controlled toy car across a chaotic, household obstacle course, dodging furniture, rugs, and hazards to be the first player to cross the finish line.

⚙️ Core Actions

The game is a frantic, real-time action-programming racer where movements are dictated by a unique physical component:

  • Scramble the Controller: At the start of each round, pass your 4x4 sliding puzzle “remote controller” to a neighbor. They shuffle the tiles blindly for a few seconds and pass it back, setting up your starting layout.
  • Solve the Real-Time Sliding Puzzle: On the count of “GO!”, everyone simultaneously races to slide their tiles into place. You are trying to sequence command symbols specifically into the middle two rows of the puzzle grid, which represent your 8 upcoming actions.
  • Claim Your Turn Order: The moment you finish your program, slam your puzzle down and grab the highest available Smile token. This acts as a countdown timer for everyone else and determines the exact turn order for the round.
  • Execute Your Action String: Moving in turn order, resolve your programmed tiles from left to right. Symbols allow your car to accelerate forward, shift diagonally, execute jumps over empty spaces, fire off a laser rocket down a straight hallway, or deploy turbo boosts powered by your remaining battery life.
  • Suffer Terrain Penalties: The house is full of obstacles. Splashing into water puddles swaps your left and right directional controls, driving onto carpet drastically shortens your movement speed, and colliding with walls or other cars forces you to lose vital battery power.
  • Manage Total Burnout: If your car takes 3 total damage and drains all its batteries, it stalls. You must completely forfeit your next three programmed movements just to recharge your cells back to full capacity before moving again.
  • Utilize Catch-Up Shields: At the end of a round, any player lagging behind the leader receives Energy Shields based on how many cars are ahead of them. These can be cashed in later to absorb damage or to add extra movement steps at the end of a turn.

🧠 Why you’ll like it

It perfectly translates the sheer, laughing panic of real-time video games like Mario Kart or Micro Machines to the board game table. Using a physical sliding puzzle as a remote control is a brilliant mechanical gimmick; rushing to slide the perfect path into place while watching your friends frantically scramble their own tiles creates an incredibly tense and hilarious atmosphere. It is a lighthearted, fast-playing, and wonderfully chaotic race game that rewards quick thinking, steady fingers, and the ability to laugh when your perfectly planned trajectory sends you careening into a wall.
